Favourite 2014 Outfits

The melancholy has kicked it, it is that time of year we reflect on the year that's been and soon to be gone. All the shit we wished we done, or in most cases hadn't done. But I'm not going that deep and thought I'd just share some of my favourite outfits I've worn from this year. I always find it strange looking back over what I've worn over a long period of time, how I've changed my style, things I've loved, things I no longer love. I also find looking at how I change my hair or how it grows an interesting sight. It can be nice reminiscing.
Happy New Year everyone!

Pyjama Pants

Jumper - Gap
Blazer - Monki (similar)
I love clothing that looks great but is also ridiculously comfy. These elasticated, loose trousers are exactly that. However I've often found trousers like this are on the edge of making you look like your rocking your pyjamas outside. I don't want to be a crazy lady in the street who everyone stares at, the turquoise hair probably doesn't help me though. I've finally found my happy place with how to wear this style of trousers. I find by adding a more formal, structured top and jacket helps to make the 'Pyjama Pants' look less casual. Also I think a bolder pattern like this geometric print on mine helps, if they were polka dot or floral I think that only adds to the pyjama feel. So there you have it my tips to wearing 'Pyjama Pants' outside without looking like a crazy lady, hopefully. Also I tried out the hair tuck an easy way to brave the winds outside and not have your hair blowing in your lipstick. I don't think it is a 'trend' for that reason but it should be!

Copy Cat

Dress - H&M
Jeans - Gap
Cardigan - Primark
Necklace - eBay
Lipstick - Topshop
I follow a lot of awesome bloggers, it is great for inspiration and for those 'I have nothing to wear' days. Yesterday Hey Claire popped up a look that I fell head over heels for, so I wanted to try and recreate it with what I already had in my wardrobe. Her style is impeccable and she is definitely one of my style inspirations as she always looks so damn cool. I already love layering and I love adding maxi items to layer so this look was right up my street and I had items that worked well to recreate the look. The 'top' I'm wearing is in fact a dress and worked well to create this look, plus its great that I can mix it up so I can wear it as a dress or a top always handy. A girl has got to have options. Of course because it is chilly here in the UK I added my scarf for some warmth and I was ready to go.

Tattooed, Doodle Ladies

T-shirt - Ella Masters
Jeans - Gap
Necklace - eBay
Shoes - Converse

With studying Graphics at college I've become really interested in illustration and realised I'm not so bad at it. But it also means I get to research other wonderful illustrators and one I already knew and loved is Ella Masters. I love her tattooed, doodle beard men and now I love her tattooed, doodle ladies too. I already have her 'Big pop' tee and in her Black Friday sale invested in the lady version. This post isn't sponsored I just think she is a wonderful artist and I'm just bragging about my awesome t-shirts. But be sure to check her out! Happy Monday.

Notice anything different? I got my hair re coloured yesterday and it is this awesome vibrant blue/turquoise now. I love getting my hair done, a good Pre-Christmas treat. Thanks again to Kennedy at Skin and Tonic I love it! I'm also loving this roll neck jumper from Primark, perfect to snuggle into in this cold weather. And to get me through work this evening, ergh. Little Black Dress

Dress - Buytshirtsonline
Jumper - ASOS
Leather Jacket - Primark
Teddy Bear Coat - New Look
Boots - eBay

I was kindly asked by BuyT-shirtsOnline if I would like to choose an item to style. They have a great, affordable selection of basic items online. I choose this simple versatile little black dress, I think it is a great piece to layer or wear alone. I love chucking jumpers over a dress, especially for Winter to layer up and I've wanted to do a post on how versatile a little black dress is. So I thought I'd show how I would wear this dress for different occasions.
I started with just a casual look, something I'd chuck on for college. Adding a jumper is a great way to wear a dress but more casually and practically for the cold weather. Plus it is great as it looks like a skirt and a jumper, so you can mix it up loads of times and no one knows it is the same dress. For a more formal occasion I'd wear the dress alone but with a leather jacket or my teddy bear coat. The leather jacket adds a sleek, fitted touch to the dress and the teddy bear style coat adds a Wintery glam look. I hope this helped anyway looking to style their LBD this Winter, and if you don't have a Little Black Dress it is a great wardrobe staple to pick up!

Maxed Out

Blazer - Monki (similar)
Trousers - H&M
Top - New Look
Cardigan - Primark
Scarf - Zara

Have I mentioned I like to layer clothes? Well here is my maxed out layered look, with this cute maxi cardigan I bought from Primark a few months ago. With the trousers and cardigan being very loose and flowing I added the more fitted top and blazer so I did appear to have some shape rather than being a walking clothes horse. But I just love chucking on various lengths and shapes to create looks of texture and interest to a look for Winter. Plus it is super cosy. Have a good weekend!

Smart and Sporty

Skirt - ASOS (similar)
Blazer - Monki (similar)`
Bar necklace - ASOS

This entire outfit is pretty much all from ASOS, can you tell they are my favourite store? I bought this awesome sale sweatshirt and I wore it once and didn't like the elastic bottom, it sort of made it puff up and with being a short ass it wasn't that flattering. Out came the scissors so I just chopped along the jumper, now it is kinda cropped and will look great layered over dresses but still look awesome with jeans. This oversized blazer is an absolute staple in my wardrobe and looks great with everything to add a chic touch to a casual/sporty outfit.

Weekend

 T-shirt - ASOS
Jeans - DIY
Blazer - Monki
Boots & Bag - Primark
Hat - My dad's

So this is an outfit I actually wore months ago for a work leavers meal, hence the longer, non green hair. It was a great night and everyone had a real laugh plus yummy food. However I saved this outfit as I was asked by a local newspaper if they could feature my image in their weekend style column. I think it is clear my go to lazy outfit is jeans(generally black) and a oversized t-shirt either with my blazer or a shirt around my waist. It is a great quick, casual and stylish (if I say so myself) outfit.

Layer it up

Jeans - Topshop
Boots, bag & shirt - Primark
T shirt - H&M
Leather Jacket - My brothers
Bird skull necklace - Shop Dixi
Bar necklace - ASOS
Teeth necklace - Black Tied

Just a casual layered up autumn/ winter outfit. Excuse the slightly poor quality photos, I took them on my phone. I love layering, clothes, jewellery, rings anything just layer it up. It was a really crisp, frosty day and this outfit was all kinds of cosy, mainly due to my brother's coat draping over me like a big hug.
