New Year's Eve

Lipstick - Topshop
Shoes - Seven Boot Lane (available at Kilver Court)

Happy New Year's Eve all. I am spending tonight with my two best friends and Alex, three very important to me and I hope you all will be with loved ones too. I just thought I would share a few snaps of the last day of 2013 with you all. Me, Alex, my mum and dad wrote our wishes on a sky lantern and let it off to bring in the New Year. It will be the first year I haven't spent New Year's Eve with my family which is a bit weird but I am looking forward to it. I've been getting ready with Molly and Georgia and can't wait to have a dance and a laugh with them later. I just want to say thank you to you all for reading my blog. You honestly have no idea how much it means to me that you check out my blog posts and follow so loyally. It really has helped boost my confidence and I can't thank you enough. I wish you all care and happiness for tonight and the New Year.

Top - ASOS
 Jacket - Primark
Legging and Boots - eBay
Socks - ASOS
Bag - Monki
Silver Necklace - Dixi (currently out of stock)

Today is the first day that both me and Alex have had the whole day off. We could of gone out but instead we decided to get loads of food and watch some films and TV. It isn't very often we get the day to do absolutely nothing! I got dressed so we could pop to town to get some snacks. My t-shirt and bag were a few goodies I picked up in the online sales. I love the t-shirt it is the perfect casual oversized t-shirt. My socks were a Christmas present and are perfect for wearing with boots. I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and have some lovely plans for tomorrow night to celebrate the New Year.

Happy Holidays

Here are a few pictures from my Christmas. You can see our dinner table beautiful laid up by my mum and some of our starter plates. The sheep statue was a present to my dad, he used to have a farm with his own sheep. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day or celebrating however you wished. Happy Holidays everyone!

Christmas Carols

Tonight I've spent the evening with my family and friends at a carol service on the green by our houses. It was a lovely evening, especially to put me in the Christmas mood. People bought lanterns, mince pies and mulled wine and it was a really communal and festive event. We also took photos for the paper as they want to build 40 houses on our green space which our homes surround. It was lovely to be all bought together and to have a sing. I hope you are all doing lovely Christmas festive things too, if so let me know in the comments or my social networking (links on the top right of my page).

DIY Snow Globe

So today I had a go at making my own DIY snow globe. The inspiration came from Pinterest and this is the original link; diy-snow-globes. You can follow me on Pinterest at http://www.pinterest.com/stepinmycloset/. Admittedly my attempt isn't as good as the original but for my first attempt I thought it went alright.
What you need:
1. A clean jar with a lid
2. Water
3. Glycerin (available at boots link here; Glycerin 200ml)
4. A figurine
5. Tinsel or glitter
6. A strong adhesive

Christmas outing OOTD

Jeans - Tesco
Coat - Sheinside
Jumper - Primark
Bag - Pieces

This outfit is what I wore when I visited Santa's Grotto. I thought I would share it with you as I quite liked it, it is very smart casual and very comfy. We had to travel for about 50 minutes and I wanted to make sure I was comfy for the journey. I've been loving this coat at the moment with a jumper or cardigan underneath. The only thing I would say if you consider getting it, I'm a size 8-10 and bought the coat in a Medium but it is snug so I would recommend going bigger. I've also not been able to put down this bag at the moment courtesy of Access All ASOS ( read about that here...Between Cracks). Hope you are all looking forward to Christmas and enjoying my more regular blogging.

Santa's Grotto

A panoramic photo of some of the trees.

On the left Liz (my mum's friend) and on the right my Mum.

The Christmas bauble my mum bought me.
Yesterday my Mum, her friend Liz (hi if you are reading Liz) and myself went to a Christmas shop in a little barn. It was adorable, it was perfect to get me even more into the Christmas spirit. I LOVE Christmas and can't wait so looking at all the gorgeous glass decorations, candles and little trinkets for Christmas was lovely. It was a cosy and cute day and we had lunch in the little cafe there. I had some gorgeous homemade tomato and red pepper soup followed with a scone (with jam and clotted cream obviously!). My mum bought my a beautiful glass decoration (above) and I also bought a little something to do a DIY post, so keep posted for that one this week. I hope I've got you all as excited as me for Christmas.

Few Favourites

Something a little different for today's post, just a few bits I've been Loving through December. The First is my absolute favourite fragrance at the moment, The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Fragrance Mist. It is a gorgeous scent and a great price, it doesn't overpower all day but you get gentle smells of it through out the day.
For lips I'm loving Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer, in Eclipse. It has a great staying power especially with a lip liner underneath. I love how easily and moisturising it applies. The colour is perfect for a darker lip for winter.
And lastly the VO5 Give Me Texture Conditioner I have very fine hair but lots of it. When it comes to washing my hair, afterwards it is very limp and flat. This conditioner I grabbed on a whim when it was on offer. It adds texture to my hair daily when styling and just gives it a bit more depth for a reasonable price.

Between the cracks

Jacket - Primark
Boots - eBay

I was a bit naughty this weekend and took advantage of ASOS offering 20% off and bought this gorgeous dress. I love the detail of the crack effect it adds a really interesting dimension and texture effect to the dress. You may remember my recent What's in my bag post for ASOS, which I won meaning I could choose a bag from the ASOS website up to the value of £100. After lots of umming and ahhing I choose this lovely slouchy black Pieces bag which fits perfectly into my wardrobe. Let me know if you would like to see a new What Is In My Bag post with this gorgeous new bag. Thanks you all my lovely readers! x

Spots and stripes

Striped top and dress - eBay
Necklace - Ethics
Leather Jacket - Primark

You will have to excuse my miserable face but today I'm in a lot of pain and even standing is painful. I have scoliosis and yesterday I locked my back when bending down so I'm currently in a lot of pain and can't move a lot. I wanted just a comfy casual outfit to chill out in. I love layering dresses at the moment, personally love how Sammi from Beauty Crush does this. I just popped on this spotty dress and striped top for a loose comfy and effortless outfit. I like how layering dresses can keep you warm in Winter but can still look effortless and feminine.
